Artist's Bio / Eric Janssen Art

Originally trained as a graphic designer (MFA Rhode Island School of Design), Eric maintains a multidisciplinary approach to art and design, seeing both as stemming from creative impulse expressed through tools and materials to different functional ends.

His current work centers around "Module" paintings, where proportion systems, geometry, sets of rules, iconography and sequence play a role in creating lively and provocative compositions. Eric considers his work non-representational and rejects the term abstract: "I may not paint portraits or landscapes, but squares, arcs and lines are tangible subject matter and thus not abstract."

Eric Janssen Art functions as a virtual gallery, allowing the artist to sell his original works directly to the public at reasonable cost.
